SEO TESTS

If you’re unclear if a change to your website will have a beneficial or negative impact on SEO, an SEO test might be the answer.

What are the benefits of performing SEO tests?

There are four advantages of conducting SEO company London tests:

1. Find out what works best for your website.

Aside from well-known ranking variables, SEO is full of “it depends” scenarios. Just because someone else experienced a favourable result after making a change doesn’t indicate it would be the same for you. It’s preferable to do so on your website.

2. Justify the allocation of resources

Implementing SEO adjustments might take a lot of time and effort. It’s a waste of energy if the adjustment doesn’t have the desired result. Testing determines whether something will have a beneficial impact in a shorter amount of time with fewer resources.

3. Be data-driven rather than opinion-driven in your decision-making.

Everyone has an opinion on what works in SEO and what doesn’t. Putting an issue to the test is often the fastest way to resolve it. If you don’t do this, the individual with the biggest mouth will likely influence direction, which isn’t necessarily a good thing.

4. Double-check that the modifications you’re making aren’t going to backfire.

Spending time and effort on an SEO adjustment that has no impact on SEO is far worse than doing the same for something that

has a negative impact on SEO. You may minimise any unfavourable results to a limited selection of pages by executing an SEO test.

What kinds of SEO exams are available?

SEO exams are divided into three categories.

1. SEO testing in a series (not recommended)

Serial testing entails changing all of the pages of your website at the same time and observing the results. This is not something we would advocate for three reasons:

-If a change has a negative influence on SEO, it affects all of your pages, not just a few.

-Making a site wide update is typically more time demanding, and rolling it back is much more time consuming.

-It doesn’t take into account seasonality or factors beyond your control.

2. Time-based SEO testing (not reommended)

Making a modification to one page and seeing how it works is known as time-based testing. Because it’s risky to establish causality with a sample size of one, we don’t advocate this form of SEO testing.

3. A/B testing from SEO company London

When you do A/B testing (also known as split-testing), you alter certain pages but not others. The results of the altered pages are then compared to the results of the unchanged pages. The control group is made up of pages that haven’t changed, whereas the variation group is made up of those that have. This form of SEO testing is recommended because:

-If the update has a negative influence on SEO, it only affects a limited number of pages.

-Because you only have to modify a small fraction of pages, it takes less time than serial testing.

-Because these factors influence both sets of pages, it helps account for seasonality and elements outside your control.
